Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog today.  This time of the year is a favourite of mine, not only do I love the autumn colours but it's also that time of the year when major paint companies start announcing their Color of the Year (COTY).

Thanks for checking out my blog today - it's going to be a short one but well worth checking out.  Can you believe summer is almost over already!?  It's been a busy season for exterior colour consultations (both online and onsite) and I wanted to share just one of my favourite colour transformations from this year.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog.  Today I wanted to share with you 4 of my favourite warm gray paint colours.  These paint colours are all Sherwin Williams as those are the colours I generally work with on my consultations.
Now I know what you are thinking - there is no such thing as a warm gray 😏.  And don't get me wrong - a warm gray is still going to be gray, which is technically a cooler colour.  In this blog when I'm referring to a warm gray, I'm not referring to the undertone but what makes these grays warm is that the have some amount of beige or brown in them.  I'm sure you've heard the term "greige" (gray+beige) and everyone has a different take on what is a greige so I'm simply going to refer to these following paint colours as warm grays.

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for checking out my blog.  Today I wanted to share with you 5 of my favourite dark blue paint colours.  The colours I will be sharing are Sherwin Williams paint colours as those are the colours I generally work with on consultations.  Dark blues or dark blue/grays continue to be a client favourite whether I am choosing paint colours for the interior or exterior.
There are so many different ways to incorporate these luxurious paint colours into your home - a feature wall, an all over colour or doors are just a few examples.
The colour blue represents trust, honesty and loyalty and in the world of colour, I truly believe, it is a timeless classic.  Another reason I love working with these darker blues is there almost no limit to what other colours can be paired with them.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog today.  I hope this blog finds you doing well as we all learn to adjust to this new normal (at least for the foreseeable future).  One thing I will say for this pandemic is because people are at home more now and looking at the same four walls daily (whether inside or out) this has been one of my busiest springs for doing colour consultations.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog.  It's a rainy, gloomy day here today in Calgary so I decided to get busy on my feature paint colour for the month of June.  We've had a late start to spring here but it's finally starting to green up!   I hope things are going well for you as we are slowly returning to, what will probably be for quite a while, our new normal.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog.  I think we might actually be able to say Spring has finally arrived!  Although I see snow in the forecast 😞 for next week, but hopefully that changes, as I am sooo done with snow for now.  I hope you are doing as well as can be expected in these unprecedented times.  With the nicer weather finally here, I have been keeping busy with exterior consultations.  I love doing exteriors as it's a great way to add curb appeal to your home (and who doesn't love a good before and after)!

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog!  It's hard to believe how our lives have changed in the last few weeks.  If you had told me this a month ago I'm not sure that I would have believed you.  I hope you are keeping safe both physically and mentally.
I've noticed that lots of people are keeping busy these days with indoor projects (painting being one of them).  At the time I wrote this blog I know that Sherwin Williams was still offering curb side pick up or delivery.  If you like help with choosing colours I'd be more than happy to help you out with an online consultation.
The last few blogs I've been talking about some of my favourite neutral paint colours but with spring (hopefully 🤞) on it's way I thought I'd talk about one of my favourite - more spring like colours this month.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog.  As I'm writing this blog it is -17C and snowing out (yes it's the middle of March 😆) so I've decided that I'm going to write a blog that hopefully inspires spring to come soon.
With everything going on in the world right now I know we can all use a break from the bad news so this blog is just a chance for you to look at some pretty, painted front doors.
Picking a paint colour for your front door can be a great way to add that little something, something to your exterior.  It's like adding that perfect pair of earrings to a great outfit 😁.   Painting your front door shows your personality before even entering your home.  Like the interior though, I think it's great to bring whatever colour you use on your front door in one other application, whether it's in landscaping or accents on the front porch.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog!  As I mentioned in my previous blog my husband I are very fortunate to be able to escape winter in Calgary for a few weeks this year.  We are currently sitting in beautiful Nevada as I write this blog 😎.  We have been in Nevada for about a month now, but we are heading to sunny 🤞Palm Desert next week.  My parents were able to spend a week with us recently, and one of their favourite spots we took them to was the China Ranch Date Farm.  Not only did they have a bakery with some delicious items made with their dates but we were also able to see how the dates are grown.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog.  If you read my previous blog I had mentioned how excited I am as we are leaving winter shortly for a couple of months.  Taking my colour consultations online was a big "to do" for me in 2019 as I still wanted to be able to offer consultations while we are away.  If you are interested in an online consultation you can check out my website for more information (and a little incentive)!
Today I wanted to share with you my 💓 for painting interior doors a colour other than white.  When I suggest this to my customers (as I often do 😃) it takes them a bit by surprise but I've had many incorporate painted doors into their home and love the outcome.   One of the many reasons I like this colour application is because it can be a great way to inject colour into what can sometimes be a neutral colour palette.  When you paint your doors it can bring attention to any architectural details that may already exist on your doors.  On the other hand, if your doors are lacking detail, colour can make your doors more interesting.
There are many different options and ways to incorporate a painted interior door into your home.  I will try and show you as many different options as possible.

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to 2020!  Can you believe we are here already?  I hope you had a great Christmas and a good holiday season.  I'm so excited as we will be leaving soon to head south and get away from winter for a few weeks. 😀 The great news is now that I've taken my business online I can now offer online colour consultations even when we are away!  If you are interested check out my website.
As I've mentioned in my previous blogs there are so many paint colours that I have loved working with over the years, so I've decided to start sharing those colours with you.  Every month I will share a different paint colour and how that colour can be used in your home.  I will also provide colour options that work well with my feature paint colour.  As I generally work with a Sherwin Williams colour palette those are the colours I will be sharing with you.
Since we are starting a new year (and a new decade 😲)I wanted to start sharing with you some of my favourite neutral paint colours as that is what you've probably used in about 80% of your home.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog!  Hard to believe we are already into the busiest month of the year!  The holiday season is just around the corner and I still have oh so much to do yet.  Are you one of those that like to get their Christmas shopping done early or do you leave it as late as possible? ✋  I just find with all the birthday gift shopping we do it's next to impossible to get a head start on Christmas.
As I mentioned in my previous blog there are so many paint colours that I have loved working with over the years, so I decided to start sharing those colours with you. The colour I chose to feature this month is a bit of a risk. 😓  It's a colour I've used personally but  also a colour that is back on trend in home decor.  Because we are in the Christmas season the feature colour for the month of December is Isle of Pines SW 6461.

Hi Everyone!
Thanks so much for checking out my blog.  Today is a gloomy weather day so it felt like a great time to get started at a new blog.  Talking about colour always lifts my mood regardless of the weather. 💓Today I wanted to talk about feature or as they are sometimes called accent walls.  It seems every designer/colour consultant has a different opinion about them.  The one thing I've discovered, the longer I've been in this business, is if you talk to 5 different colour consultants you will get 5 different opinions.  That's why I think it's really important if you are thinking about hiring a professional to help you out with colours that you like their style.   Regardless if a colour application or paint colour is on trend or on it's way out - it's your home, so it's important to implement the colours and design that makes you happy!  I've sure you've heard the saying that "trends come and go but style is forever".   And the only style that matters is the one that makes you happy when you enter your home at the end of a very long day.  Now that I've got that out of my system 😏 let's get on with showing you how and when a feature wall can be a great way to implement your style into your home.
Just so you know which side of the feature wall debate I'm on - I am definitely a fan of them provided they are executed in a way that is pleasing to the eye (see even I have my limits 😀).  Feature walls provide a great opportunity to experiment with colours and textures and can be relatively inexpensive depending on the material you use.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for checking out my blog!  Can you believe we are into November already?!?  Although here in Calgary we’ve already had quite a few cold and snowy days so I feel like it’s going to be a very long winter. 😒

The paint colour I wanted to share with you this month was a no brainer for me 😏.  It’s the colour Sherwin Williams announced as their 2020 Colour of the Year and a favourite of mine that I have used in several spaces.  The paint colour I wanted to talk to you about the month is none other than a gorgeous navy blue otherwise known as NAVAL SW 6244.

Hi Everyone
It's that time of year when the paint companies announce their Colour of the Year for 2020.  I enjoy this time as it's always interesting to see what colour the paint companies choose and why they choose those particular colours.  They spend time researching and travelling around the world, attending design shows and picking up cues from different industries to determine their COTY.  While I don't always 😉, I think the colours chosen for 2020 are beautiful, easy to implement and more importantly are livable colours.  So here we go - let me know what you think of the choices this year.
